This one day seminar is an essential event for both road safety professionals working in the field of drink and drug driving education or enforcement, and fleet managers with responsibility for addressing this issue in the workplace.

The seminar will bring together academic and practitioner speakers specialising in drink and drug driving policy, driver education and enforcement measures to discuss:

  • the latest research about the dangers of driving after consuming any amount of alcohol or drugs, including impairing legal medicines as well as illegal drugs
  • interventions in the workplace, including random testing and education programmes
  • next steps in roadside enforcement technologies and the rehabilitation of offenders

Speakers and topics include:

Dr Rob Tunbridge, independent alcohol and drug driving consultant
Rob will discuss recent research into the extent of drug driving, and look at best practice examples for addressing the problem from governments across Europe.

Steve Collier, Managing Director, Blue Knight Learning
Steve will examine current practice on drug and alcohol testing in the workplace and provide an overview of methods of testing that companies can introduce. His session will also share best practice on writing and embedding substance testing into wider company policy.

Jenny Wynn, Director, TTC Group
Drink and drug-drive rehabilitation: latest developments. Jenny will discuss the latest research and initiatives in the rehabilitation of drink and drug drivers.

Roger Singer, Director, DDE+.
Roger will cover the importance of drink and drugs policy, and why it's imperative that workers are trained in the policy and how to do this effectively.
