Have you always wanted to take part in a charity run, but never had the time, or have struggled to obtain a place?
This May, why not take part in Brake's Virtual Run?
* run any distance
* run at your own pace
* run whenever it suits you
And of course, you can raise money to help us continue our dedicated work preventing road death and injury and supporting others who have been bereaved or injured in road crashes.
What is a Virtual Run?
A Virtual Run is a race that can be run at any location, wherever you are in the world. You can walk, jog, run, use a treadmill or participate in any local race already happening. It's your race, so you can choose what distance you run and how fast you run it.
When is it taking place?
Brake's Virtual Run is taking place throughout May 2016. You can choose the day.
How can I take part?
To sign up, simply click the REGISTER NOW button and fill out our online entry form.
The entry fee is just £10 for adults and £5 for children. Once you have signed up, you will receive a pack, which includes a special Brake Virtual Run t-shirt, fundraising pack and sponsorship forms. Each entrant must fill out their own form in order to receive this pack.
Then in May 2016, complete your run. Let us know when you've done it and we'll send you a medal and thank you certificate in the post.
How far should I run?
This is your race, so you choose how far you run. We recommend that you have a distance in mind, for example a mile, a 5km, 10km or more. Why not give yourself a challenge - something to work towards?
Should I take photographs?
Yes please! We would love to see them and share Virtual Run photos to our social media pages. You can either send them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or use the hashtag #BrakesVirtualRun.
If you are recording your run on your phone, why not screenshot your distance and time too?
Can I get sponsored?
Yes please! You will receive a hard-copy Virtual Run sponsorship form when you receive your pack. Can't wait until then? We'll also email you an online copy when you register.
Also, you can also create your very own Virtual Run JustGiving page here and clicking 'fundraise for us'.
Where can I run?
Anywhere! You can complete your run
* down at the local park
* at your local gym on the treadmill
* as part of an organised local event
* wherever you want
It's your choice.
There are many 5K, 10K, half and full marathons also taking part all across the UK.

Please note, participants will have to register for external races individually. Brake does not take responsibility for booking you onto these races.
Want something more local and less formal? Park Run organise hundreds of weekly, free, pre-arranged races in local parks all across the UK. You can find your nearest one here.
Can I run in memory of a loved one?
Yes. Throughout 2016 we have fundraisers all "doing it for them" and taking part in a range of fundraisers in memory of their loved one.
Perhaps you might like to download a Brake template to attach to the back of your charity t-shirt?
Can a group of us run together?
Yes! On the online entry form you can enter the name of your group. You can even set up a group JustGiving page.
