Speed cameras in Oxfordshire are to be reinstated on 1 April next year as early evidence shows that speeding has increased by as much as 400% at camera sites.
A new organisational structure is being put in place that will see Thames Valley Police taking over the cost and running of the cameras, funding it through fees from drivers sent on speed awareness courses.

News also out today authored by Professor Richard Allsop finds that 800 more people could be killed or seriously injured each year on Britain’s roads if all the fixed and mobile speed cameras operational before the road safety grant was cut this summer were to be decommissioned.
