Infant and primary schools

School signUsing roads is part of children's daily lives so they have a lot to say about it if inspired and encouraged. Roads are also one of the biggest killers and cause of disability among kids. Road safety is therefore a brilliant topic for infant and primary schools to help you reach a wide range of curriculum goals and save lives.

There are many stimulating ways you can address the subject, but the best way is to give children ownership of it by getting them campaigning for road safety through creative projects. Children can be powerful advocates for road safety, helping their parents and your wider community be safer drivers as well as helping the children learn vital road safety lessons about being safe on foot and bicycles.

Children can also help fundraise for Brake and our services for families bereaved by road death. (If you need help for a child who has been bereaved by road death or in some other sudden way, go to our support pages.)
