The Brake pledge

steeringwheelEveryone can help put an end to the carnage on our roads by signing up to the Brake Pledge online today!

The Brake Pledge puts the spot light on those responsible for deaths on roads; bad drivers. By signing the Brake Pledge you are making a promise to drive as safely as possible and cut down or stop driving. Or, if you don't drive, the Brake Pledge asks you to promise to speak up and help drivers be as safe as possible and reduce their driving.

The Brake Pledge calls on drivers to drive slow (always under speed limits), sober (no alcohol or drugs), silent (phones off), sharp (not tired or ill and with good eyesight), secure (everyone belted up correctly) and sustainably (as little as possible or not at all).

livia-galli-atkinsonThis page is in memory of Livia Galli-Atkinson, who was walking on a pavement near her home in Enfield when a car mounted the pavement and drove along it without braking. It demolished a road sign and injured another pedestrian before hitting Livia, and dragging her to her death.

The fact that Livia’s death occurred on a pedestrian right of way has made it even more difficult for Livia’s parents, George and Giulietta, and sister Bianca, to come to terms with her death.
