The family of Katie Evans, a 21 year-old who was killed as a passenger in a speeding car being driven by a drunk driver, have raised over £6,000 for Brake by hosting an evening in her memory on the first anniversary of her death.

The family of Jamie Mason, aged 12 when he was killed by an uninsured, unlicensed drink driver, have raised over £7,000 for Brake and two other charities by holding an educational fun day in his memory. Activities included two charity football matches

Josephine Turner organised a Fundraising Evening in memory of her son Martyn who was killed in 2004. The event, held at The Ulster Maple Leaf Club, raised a fantastic £2,175 for Brake by selling pin-badges and holding a ballot style raffle with prizes including ice-hockey tickets and a washing machine.

Fiona Armstrong died in a car crash on the A76 in 1998. She was 31 years old. Her two children survived the crash. William and Bess Armstrong, from Dumfries, organised a charity event in memory of Fiona, who was William’s sister.
