Jason Eaton - loved and missed by so many

  • PDF

Jason EatonJason, our Jay, went out for a night out with his friends on 5th October 2010 and that was the last time we saw him as he was; fun, happy; always joking and winding people up; always giving us lots of cuddles, especially his mum.

He was doing a Performing Arts course at Rugby College in his 2nd year.

Jay was learning to drive, and had his test booked for 8th November, he was a good and sensible driver.  His friend, who picked him up, had been driving for a while, but during the course of the evening he swapped cars.

Jay was a front passenger with a very inexperienced driver, in a crash just minutes from home.

Jay fought for his life until the early hours of the morning and died on 6th October 2010.

We have a massive hole in our lives, he was such a great person and loved by so many.

Our family will never be the same.

We will always support any campaigns to change the driving rules and regulations, especially those with regard to speed and inexperience.

All young drivers out there driving.  Please be aware of the devastation that you can cause by just being a driver.

Jay would have been 18 on June 17th 2011 and this is the poem I wrote for him:

Happy birthday Jay, bud is what we’d say.
At last you’d be 18 if you were here today.
The fun you had over the years growing up
The youngest of three, you had to be tough

The little chap who loved to dance and joke
The smelly farm no, not smelly farm nope.
The holidays with the Halls, always great fun.
The scary stories; Alison had you on the run.

The school days at Creaton and Long Buckby
The fun at Guilsborough, the best there could be.
The smile to brighten the world and the day
The bales with Mart you’d play in the hay.

The games of rugby that never did last
The parties and alcohol, you had a blast.
The x-box with Steven, when he gave you the nod,
The Williconcarne, your name playing COD

The college a laugh, you made loads of mates
The impersonations you did of people in states.
The hugs that were big enough to wrap around the world
The bed that you loved to lie in all curled.

You are in our thoughts and prayers, in every passing day
We still cannot believe the truth, that you have gone away.
Up with the Angels on high you now rest.
It’s true what they say, they only take the best.

We love and miss you always xxxxxxx

Love Marina, Steve, Martin and Steven.
