Get help for a road victim
When someone is killed or seriously injured in a road crash, Brake's National Road Victim Service is here to help. This short animation explains the free, professional, trauma-informed service that Brake provides.
Contact the National Road Victim Service, to refer someone into the service.
Best practice is to make a referral for someone, with their consent and in their presence. It can be very daunting for someone who has just suffered a traumatic bereavement to make the first call. With their permission, you can tell us what has happened so that they don’t have to explain.
Call 0808 8000 401 or email help@brake.org.uk.
Get help for yourself
You can also contact the National Road Victim Service for help for yourself.
Our case workers can provide you with information and help to support road crash victims better, and can also support you.
Call 0808 8000 401 or email help@brake.org.uk.
Help for police family liaison officers
If you are a police officer, go to our police Family Liaison Officer hub, helping FLOs provide the best possible support to road victim families.
