The individual will have provided significant contributions to road safety matters, aligned with one or more of the four objectives set by the National Police Chiefs Council 2022-25 in their Roads Policing Strategy:
- preventing harm and saving lives
- tackling crime on our roads
- exploring the challenges and benefits of new technology
- influencing public behaviour to ensure road safety
Nominated individuals should also be passionate about working towards change in any or all of the key areas, recognising that everyone has the right to move around in safe and healthy ways as part of their everyday lives.
They will demonstrate dedication to the above areas through long-standing activity, championing road safety by keeping it high on the agenda at a local or even national level. They may have developed best practice, initiatives, or worked in collaboration with other organisations.
