The nominees for the Outstanding Family Liaison Officer Award were submitted by their colleagues in the police force. The winners were announced at Brake's Annual Reception held at the House of Commons in July 2021.

Outstanding Family Liaison Officer Award

Winner: Sergeant Scott Lee-Amies, Suffolk Constabulary

Sergeant Lee-Amies was commended by the judges for:

  • Organising the continued professional development of new and existing FLOs in the Constabulary
  • Taking pride in his work as Family Liaison Co-ordinator (FLC), and being a role model for aspiring Road policing officers and FLOs
  • Outstanding dedication to his role.

Highly commended for the award were

Sergeant Jason Heather, Kent Police, for his work in Operation Sandpiper, providing support packages to families, and his passion for, and knowledge of the support available to road victims and their families.

PC Aaron Duffy, Norfolk Police, for his dedication to the role of FLO, the empathy he shows for the families he supports, and balancing work as an FLO with other police work.

Sergeant Scott Lee-Amies has inspired the next generation of Officers to continue in his footsteps.
