Talk about road safety in class
Use our whole-school assembly presentation or individual lesson plans to explore why footpaths, cycle paths, safe places to cross, slow traffic and clean air are so important for children to be able to make safe and healthy journeys. Help children learn about campaigning for change and introduce the Kids' Manifesto for safe and healthy journeys. Our road safety postcard is a great way for children to ask their grown ups to keep them safe near roads. There's also a fun activity sheet to help children spot safe crossing places while out and about.

Shout out for safe and healthy journeys for children
At Brake we believe that everyone has the right to make safe and healthy journeys, and we have lots of experience of helping people campaign for road safety. Brake’s Kids Walk is a great opportunity to get involved in a road safety campaign, helping children to call for the key things they need to make their journeys safe: footpaths, cycle paths, safe places to cross, slow traffic and clean traffic. Please present the Kids’ manifesto for safe and healthy journeys to a local decision-maker (your local authority or MP). There is space to write what changes you need to make roads near your school safer.
