Collision investigation and post-crash care

The change that we want

A woman talking on her phone, with a thoughtful expression on her face.

Our vision is for a world where no one is seriously injured or killed on roads, however, this will only be achieved with improved collision investigation, enabling us to learn from crashes and prevent the mistakes of the past. On the journey to eliminating road death and serious injury, we must also ensure that victims, for whom the system has failed, are appropriately supported.

We believe that safe and healthy mobility is everyone’s human right wherever we are. No one should be killed or seriously injured on roads.

Brake advocates for the Safe System approach to road safety management. The Safe System approach has five pillars:

  1. Safe roads
  2. Safe speeds
  3. Safe vehicles
  4. Safe road use
  5. Post-crash care

Brake also believes that an effective road safety system is also reliant upon robust enforcement and criminal justice and that the fleet sector has a significant role to play in helping improve the safety of our roads.
