Fleetmaster delivers tailored driver training and development solutions to the logistics industry, working to reduce collisions, improve fuel efficiency and modify driver behaviours. Working closely with their customers, Fleetmaster can adapt the telematics and driver management software they provide to suit individual needs. Customers have access to a centralised platform to manage assets and risk associated with fleets, called My-DRM (Driver Risk Management).

My-DRM allows fleet managers to easily access information held about fleets and drivers, and driver risk ratings are displayed. The live driver risk scoring ratings are calculated using telematics data, licence check completion and training information. Fleetmaster can adapt the system according to different customers’ needs, adding different risk criteria and parameters. My-DRM’s algorithms track trends in data. Fleetmaster’s data analysts review the trends that appear in the driver data and use it to inform interventions that will help make fleets safer.

The use of My-DRM has reduced at-fault collisions by 39% in the first six months following training. Fleetmaster also reported an 88% reduction in costs for its customers, alongside a 14% improvement in miles per gallon (MPG), saving £172.38 on fuel spend per vehicle per year.

Jamie Boocock, Director at Fleetmaster Group, said: “We are extremely honoured and proud to win this award as it highlights our drive to helping fleets actively manage their driver risk. The way the system is built allows our data scientists to monitor customers drivers and react when they can see trends that are likely to escalate into an incident of some form.”

The Dr Will Murray Award for Analysis and Action, sponsored by eDriving, was presented to Fleetmater at the UK Fleet Champions Awards 2024. The award celebrates the organisation that has implemented strong management systems to identify and tackle the safety and environmental impact of vehicles used on its behalf, carrying out risk and environmental impact assessments, monitoring and recording incident and fuel usage data, analysing data and researching and implementing effective interventions.
