Scrap Car Comparison continues to work alongside Brake as an Associated Partner, pledging £10,000 in vital funding over the next year, which will go towards supporting road victims and campaigning for safer roads.
Since becoming a Brake partner in 2024, Scrap Car Comparison has found creative ways to support the charity, including highlighting Brake as its featured charity and encouraging customers to donate money through its Donate-A-Car scheme.
The scheme enables people who want to scrap their vehicle or sell it for salvage to donate some or all of the proceeds to Brake.
Last year, Scrap Car Comparison was part of a project with the University of Northampton, which saw fashion design students curate a line of clothing and accessories made from reclaimed seatbelts. All money from the sale of the garments was donated to Brake.
Ross Moorlock, CEO at Brake, said: “Scrap Car Comparison is a valued partner of Brake, so I am really pleased to work with the team for another year under our Associated Partnership.
“We’re grateful for the work Scrap Car Comparison has been doing to support Brake with its fundraising and income generation initiatives. These efforts go a long way towards supporting individuals and families whose lives are torn apart by road crashes.”
Dan Gick, CEO at Scrap Car Comparison, added: "There aren't many charities that align with what we do as naturally as Brake does. Every car that comes through Scrap Car Comparison has a history, and sadly, a lot of those histories involve unsafe situations on the road. Brake exists to prevent those situations and to be there for the people whose lives are turned upside down by road crashes. That's a mission we feel deeply connected to.
“What they've built over the years is remarkable; from campaigning for tougher road safety legislation to being there for victims and families who have nowhere else to turn. To be able to support that work, and get our customers behind it too, means a great deal to us.
“There's huge excitement from everyone about what we can do as part of this partnership, with plenty of fundraising ideas already planned over the summer months. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
