The Rowan Tree Ball is a landmark event celebrating three decades of life-changing support for families affected by road crashes. This partnership reflects a deep alignment of values between HCC and Brake, rooted in compassion, justice and a shared commitment to making UK roads safer for everyone.
A partnership built on a shared mission
As a leading serious injury law firm, HCC Solicitors witnesses first-hand the devastating impact road crashes have on individuals and families. Their work goes beyond legal representation. It’s about restoring dignity, seeking justice and supporting people through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Since the charity was founded in 1995, Brake has been a lifeline for bereaved and injured families, offering emotional and practical support through its National Road Victim Service, and campaigning tirelessly for safer roads. HCC’s long-standing support of Brake includes funding, advocacy and participation in key initiatives such as Brake’s charity golf day and the After the Crash conference.
Celebrating resilience and hope at the Rowan Tree Ball
The Rowan Tree Ball, taking place on Thursday 27 November 2025 at Park Regis Birmingham, is more than a fundraiser. It’s a celebration of resilience, remembrance and progress.
Named after the rowan tree, a symbol of protection and hope, the event will honour the strength of families affected by road trauma and the collective efforts of those working to create lasting change. All proceeds from the ball will support Brake’s vital work, campaigning to stop road crashes, prevent harm and ensure continued specialist care for road victim families in their darkest hours.

Martin James, Director at HCC Solicitors, said: “Given our line of work, we witness the devastation caused by road crashes every day. We are extremely proud to continue our partnership with Brake, whose work is vital in supporting victims and driving change.
“Sponsoring the Rowan Tree Ball is a natural extension of our values. Our ‘family first’ approach to legal care mirrors Brake’s ethos of empathy and empowerment. Together, we champion a future where every road victim receives the support they need, and every road user benefits from safer infrastructure and policy.
“This headline sponsorship is not just a financial contribution. It’s a statement of solidarity, a celebration of shared achievements, and a commitment to continued collaboration.”
